Micah Ashby

Candidate for United States Senator in Arkansas

Micah Ashby is running for United States Senator in Arkansas.

The content below is taken from her campaign website.

Ashby is competing in a March 3, 2026 primary against Tom Cotton and Jeb Little. The winner will move on to the general election.

Priorities

NEUTRAL/UNKNOWN

Limited Government

I believe government should serve the peopleβ€”not the other way around. I will fight to reduce bureaucratic red tape, cut wasteful spending, and return power to local communities.
starvoters pov: It's unclear what "power" Micah Ashby would like returned to local communities. Everything else is nice, but doesn't affect our day-to-day lives.
Will make our lives WORSE

Promote School Safety

Our children are most important. Washington has not cared about this issue, nor have your elected officials bothered to bring forth a bill to solve this issue. It is not an issue of Gun Rights, which I support. You can have Gun Rights and school safety! I have a plan to protect schools using an AI weapon detection system. I will advocate for this technology to be in Arkansas schools and make Arkansas the leading state for school safety. Funding is available for this kind of technology and Washington has ignored it! Your Kids are safe under my leadership.
starvoters pov: The level of ignorance here is dangerous. AI weapon detection systems will be unreliable and will do little to prevent gun violence in schools.
Will make our lives BETTER

Fiscal Responsibility

Our national debt threatens the future of our children and grandchildren. I will work to balance the budget, promote responsible investment, and ensure that taxpayer dollars are spent wisely and transparently. Your children deserve a bright future where houses are affordable and families can build a future in a flourishing economy.

Defending the Second Amendment

I am a gun owner myself. The right to bear arms is fundamental to our liberty. I will oppose any efforts to restrict lawful gun ownership and champion the rights of responsible gun owners across Arkansas.
starvoters pov:
  1. This is fear-mongering.
  2. A child or adolescent is killed with a gun every 2 hours and 48 minutes in the U.S.
  3. Age-adjusted firearm homicide rates in the US are 33 times greater than in Australia and 77 times greater than in Germany.
  4. Arkansas is one of the worst states in the U.S. for violent crime, murder and firearm deaths. This should be an opportunity for some self-reflection.
  5. Thoughts and prayers aren't going to cut it anymore. Gun safety laws save lives.
NEUTRAL/UNKNOWN

Strong National Security

A secure America is a strong America. I will support our military, secure our borders, and advocate for policies that keep Arkansas families safe.
starvoters pov: This is too vague to mean anything.
NEUTRAL/UNKNOWN

Religious Liberty

Our freedom to worship and live according to our faith is non-negotiable. I will fight against any measure that threatens religious expression in our schools, workplaces, or public spaces. As a Christian Licensed and Ordained minister, Religious freedom is important to me. Jesus is King!
starvoters pov: The First Amendment to the Constitution establishes the separation of church and state. Everyone is free to worship and live according to their faith, but it doesn't belong in government.
Will make our lives WORSE

Educational Excellence:

Our children deserve the best. I support parental choice, high standards, and local control of our schools. I will fight for policies that empower teachers and parents to shape bright futures for every student.
starvoters pov: This is coded language for school vouchers and book bans. To learn more about why school vouchers are bad, see Sarah Sanders.

Jobs and the Economy

Arkansas’s workforce is second to none. I will work to attract new industries, support small businesses, and invest in infrastructure that connects our state to the world. Economic growth should benefit every corner of Arkansas, from our rural communities to our vibrant cities. Not to mention fighting for Arkansas workers for fair wages and fair treatment.

Will make our lives WORSE

Healthcare Reform

Access to quality healthcare is critical, but so is affordability. I will advocate for market-driven solutions that lower costs, increase options, and protect those with pre-existing conditions. Bureaucrats shouldn’t stand between you and your doctor, nor should the federal government. Your Doctor should be able to make decisions on your treatment without fear of losing their license due to government overreach in our healthcare system.
Will make our lives BETTER

Standing with Farmers and Rural Communities

Agriculture is the backbone of Arkansas. I will stand up for our farmers, oppose unnecessary regulations, and promote innovation that keeps our agricultural sector strong and competitive. Our Arkansas farmers are on the brink of losing everything and something needs to be done before its too late. We should ask why our elected officials do not care and haven't taken action on this matter. 1 in 3 Arkansas Farmers could shut down by mid 2026. IT MATTERS! This is a desperate situation that needs attention and i will give our farmers the voice they need.

Micah Ashby has a few good priorities and many bad ones. We deserve better.

Arkansas (3.1 M people)

Arkansas is a beautiful state with great people and incredible potential, cursed with an awful government controlled by corrupt grifters that work for billionaires and big business and fail us on every count. Because of this it ranks near the bottom of every quality-of-life metric imaginable: health, education, crime, you name it.

They want us poor, sick, dumb, and fighting each other, so that we're so busy trying to survive that we can't challenge what they're doing to us.

Connecticut is a state with a similar-sized population that shows us what we could have. It's better on every single metric. Why? Because Connecticut voters elect politicians who actually work for their citizens. Can you imagine what your life would be like if we had similar stats?

Use the dropdown below to compare Arkansas to other states and see how we measure up. Spoiler alert: we're almost always worse. It's time for a change.
