Will make our lives WORSE

Sarah Sanders

Candidate for Governor in Arkansas

Sarah Sanders has been the Governor of Arkansas since 2023, so we can judge how she has affected our lives.

Highlights / Lowlights

Will make our lives WORSE

Destroying Our Public Schools

We all want what's best for our kids and for them to be set up to succeed in life.

Sarah Sanders' school vouchers program has already used $374 million of our taxpayer dollars on a program that hasn't, doesn't, and won't improve a single public school anywhere in Arkansas.

  • We didn't vote for this. Vouchers were forced on us by Sarah Sanders in the LEARNS Act. In every state where voters actually had a choice, they have rejected school vouchers.
  • Vouchers benefit the wealthy at the expense of low-income and rural communities.
  • Vouchers mostly fund students who are already attending private school.
  • Wealthy families are overwhelmingly the recipients of school vouchers.
  • Research shows that kids who use vouchers actually get worse educations.
  • Voucher money has been used to subsidize activities that include horseback riding, ninja warrior training, cooking classes, and archery.

And she's forcing us to pay for all of it. We're subsidizing the wealthiest families in Arkansas and starving public schools. What a scam.

Sarah Sanders is destroying our kids' futures. They deserve better.
starvoters pov: Sarah Sanders is the reverse Robin Hood: robbing from the poor to give to the rich.

Want to Die Young? Move to Arkansas.

We all deserve access to quality healthcare so we can live healthy and productive lives. But health outcomes in Arkansas are dismal.

Sarah Sanders:
  • Oversees one of the worst rated states in the country for overall health, women's health and children's health.
  • Supported the "Big Beautiful Bill", which slashed federal healthcare funds and allowed ACA subsidies to expire at the end of 2025. This has driven up all of our healthcare costs in 2026.
  • Wants to implement work requirements on Medicaid, which threaten to kick thousands off coverage, including working people in unreliable industries.
  • Negotiated a 22% increase in healthcare premiums for Arkansans, higher than the national average.
  • Refuses to extend Medicaid coverage for new moms from 60 days to 12 months. Arkansas is the only state in the country that refuses to do this.

Sarah Sanders doesn't care about us, our health or our kids. We deserve better.
starvoters pov: You could live an extra 6-7 years just by moving to another state.

A History of Lies

When did it become okay for our leaders to lie to us? Do they think we're too stupid to check facts? Or do they just think that we're suckers that are easily manipulated and will fall for their con?

As White House Press Secretary, Sarah Sanders lied to the American people ALL. THE. TIME. If we can't trust her to tell us the truth, how can we trust her with our lives and futures?

We deserve leaders who respect us enough to tell us the truth.
starvoters pov: Truth matters.

Grifting

We can all agree that our tax dollars shouldn't be used for our Governor's personal gain or to enrich her friends.

At the same time that Arkansas has the highest food insecurity rate in the entire United States, Sarah Sanders:
  • Has taken Arkansas tax-payer funded vacations boondoggles "trade missions" to Paris, the World Economic Forum in Switzerland, UAE & Israel, and South Korea & Japan with little to no benefit to Arkansans.
  • Hired her crony Joe Profiri as Corrections Secretary with a $210,000/year salary (plus a $40,000 bonus!), then rehired him as a "senior advisor" at almost $200K/year when he was fired.
  • Bought a mysteriously expensive $19,000 lectern that enriched her friends, and then tried to hide it.
  • Went to the 2025 Super Bowl, the most expensive football game of all time (at the time), and won't disclose how it was paid for.

Sarah Sanders treats OUR money like HER own personal piggy bank. We deserve better.
starvoters pov: Honesty and integrity matter. Especially for our elected officials.

Forcing A Mega Prison on a Community That Doesn't Want It

We should have a voice in important decisions that affect our communities.

Sarah Sanders doesn't believe that. She secretly planned to build a mega prison in Franklin County without involving a single local official, utility, or community member and then sprung it on them. And despite the fact that the community doesn't want it, that all the data shows that it's not a suitable site, and that it will likely cost hundreds of millions of dollars more than she claims, she is still trying to ram it down their throats.

"The community feels a deep sense of betrayal, as they were given no say in a decision that will drastically change their lives, from property values to safety, to the very identity of their community."
- Governor Continues Push for Mega-Prison Plan on Small Arkansas Community

Sarah Sanders clearly isn't representing the citizens of Arkansas here. So who is she really fighting for?
starvoters pov: This prison plan makes absolutely no sense. Whose pocket is Sarah Sanders in?

Trying to Take Away OUR Power

Our elected officials are supposed to reflect OUR will.

Sarah Sanders doesn't care about any of that. She thinks she's above the law:
  • She tried to gut Arkansas's FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) by pushing through a bill that would have allowed her and other top state officials to essentially operate in the dark.
  • While that didnt work, she was able to weaken the FOIA so that she could hide the details of her travel, so we can't see how she's wasting our money.
  • Her hand-picked members of the Arkansas Educational Television Commission voted to become the only state in the country to sever ties with PBS, despite that fact that a majority of Arkansans believe that it's important to have access to media that is educational and remains free from commercial influence.
  • She has eliminated billions of dollars of tax revenue by reducing the top-end personal and corporate income tax rates. So... Tax breaks for the 1%, nothing for everyone else, and this is why we can't have nice things.
  • She attempted to eliminate representation for 85,000+ Arkansans in Senate District 26 (home of Franklin County) and 30,000+ Arkansans in House District 70, by delaying the special elections for vacant seats for 5+ months longer than legally allowed, until she was forced to do the right thing by the courts.

Sarah Sanders doesn't work for you and doesn't want YOU telling HER what to do. We deserve better.
starvoters pov: Our elected officials should work for us, not the other way around.

We have seen exactly what Sarah Sanders would do as Governor, and it's clear that she isn't working for the people of Arkansas and has no interest in making our lives better. She is destroying our public schools, jet setting around the world with our money, bullying local communities and helping ensure that Arkansas is scraping the bottom of the barrel in every single quality-of-life metric (see below). We deserve better.

Ask the citizens of Franklin County - you should only vote for Sarah Sanders if you enjoy punching yourself in the face.

Arkansas (3.1 M people)

Arkansas is a beautiful state with great people and incredible potential, cursed with an awful government controlled by corrupt grifters that work for billionaires and big business and fail us on every count. Because of this it ranks near the bottom of every quality-of-life metric imaginable: health, education, crime, you name it.

They want us poor, sick, dumb, and fighting each other, so that we're so busy trying to survive that we can't challenge what they're doing to us.

Connecticut is a state with a similar-sized population that shows us what we could have. It's better on every single metric. Why? Because Connecticut voters elect politicians who actually work for their citizens. Can you imagine what your life would be like if we had similar stats?

Use the dropdown below to compare Arkansas to other states and see how we measure up. Spoiler alert: we're almost always worse. It's time for a change.
